Ideal Thunderstreak Ice, Land Snow & Water Cruiser

Okay, time to get SERIOUS here and post something from the Toy Department. :)

Does anyone remember having one of these? I had to be scant little baby when Thunderstreak first came out (I was born in 1966 BTW), but man, I can sure see what I missed - THE GOLDEN AGE OF THE TOY INDUSTRY.

According to the ad, this thing does everything EXCEPT FLY (If the folks at Ideal could've figured out a way to make wings for it, it probably would've been able to fly too!) Having seen some of the other commercials on some of the other sites, I can see there were even better ones than this gem.

I only caught the tail end of the golden years of the toy industry in the very late 1960s and all of the 1970s, but Ahh....Those were the days, weren't they? :)

Cutex Nail Polish

This comes to us courtesy of the X-Entertainment website.

Okay I decided that I'd take a break from (what has become) the norm for awhile by posting a commercial some of you might remember. You know, as in BEFORE some of the crap passed off as *cough* *cough* "tasteful" advertising that (Tragically) pollutes the airwaves today? And also way back when Paris Hilton's only claim to fame and fortune is being an heiress to a hotel chain and the crap we now (Again tragically) pass off as "Reality" wasn't even around (Note I don't count COPS or America's Most Wanted as those shows ARE Reality shows in every sense of the word).

Anyhow, sure this ad is a little racy as it peddles its product (Cutex Strong Nail Polish), but hey, This was the 1980s here The closest racy thing we saw back then was Madonna (If not Cyndi Lauper too, but neither of them ever did some of the stuff that the aforementioned Paris Hilton & her best friend Brittney Spears have done. If they did, people wouldn't put up with it).

Anyway, you just gotta love the "Romeo & Julette" approach in this ad. It makes it both stand out AND look good at the same time. Dontcha think?

Pre-Sweetened Kool Aid (Featuring Bugs Bunny & The Monkees)

In this late 1960s (??) commercial, Bugs Bunny peeks around a small palm tree on a beach only to find The Monkees. He asks them (In his usual manner) "What's Up Doc?".

They tell him there nobody around bu them. After that, music starts playing and they start playing on the beach and making sure to stop and have some Pre-Sweetened Kool Aid, indicating that you can always use another friend.

Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid

Remember Madge the manicurist? In this ad, she is giving advice to a woman on advice on men ad romance to (Of course) what to use to wash her dishes with - Polmolive Dishwashing Liquid.

Found it on YouTube. If I can find the website of the person who posted it (Or at least their YT channel), I'll credit them.

Due To Technical Difficulties With The Old Feed....

All videos will now be posted to the NEW feed now. I have chosen to leave the old one up for the immediate time being while people make the switch to the new feed.

I may also burn the new feed into a FeedBurner URL as well so then this way you will stay subscribed REGARDLESS of where the source feed is coming from.

With that out of the way, here are more words for our ehh..."sponsors" :) *LOL!*
